Hot Stone Massage Therapy
This specialist therapy,
currently available in prestigious spas, worldwide, using a
combination of hot oils and stones brings a whole new meaning to
massage.
Stones have
been part of our earth, since time began. Hot stones have long been
recorded for massage treatments by earlier cultures, such as Native
American Indians.

A hot stone massage
Although most
people are aware of the benefits of massage, what is new and unique
in the delivery of this treatment, is that it incorporates
thermo-therapy, energy and healing, through the stones. The
therapeutic potential goes beyond ordinary massage, the benefits are
physical, psychological and spiritual and you will certainly feel
incredibly well, relaxed and gently energised after your treatment.
The treatment
delivers nurturing, deep relaxation and relieves pain derived from
constant tension and stress, to a level probably never experienced
before. The massage is suitable for those seeking stress release,
relaxation and balancing of mind and body, or those needing a
thorough workout on their body, to enable recovery from injury.
The massage
starts with the therapist placing a selection of hot stones on key
energy points in the body, this causes the chakras to open, which in
turn unblocks stagnant energy, thereby making the body more
receptive to healing. This instantly imbues the client with a
feeling of deep relaxation and well being. Next, carefully selected
stones are used in conjunction with warmed aromatherapy oils, giving
a firm rhythmic massage, allowing the stones to give up their power
and warmth to tired and tense muscles, promoting peace and
tranquillity.

Hopi Ear Candles
 |
This treatment
using the 'Hopi Ear Candle', named after the Native American tribe
who first introduced this gentle therapy to the West, is not a
candle as such, but a hollow tube made out of cotton flax.
Translation
of the word 'Hopi' means 'peaceful ones'. The Hopi Nation is
renowned for its extensive knowledge of healing and their spiritual
lifestyle. The candles benefit a number of medical conditions. The
warmth created by the candle stimulates the blood flow to the head
and neck thus increasing the distribution of oxygen and nutrients to
the tissues which encourage healing. |
Not only do they Improve the
cleansing circulation of the lymph glands, but also such problems as
sinus congestion, Infections, vertigo, equilibrium problems and certain
diseases of the Inner ear, in some cases your doctor's permission may be
required. Activities such as swimming and diving will benefit from
regular treatments and straightforward problems involving earwax,
earache and tinnitus can be improved with this safe and gentle
treatment.
The treatment is very relaxing
and will take about an hour. A lighted 'candle', is placed over the ear
orifice, the warmth it produces, combined with the oil and herbs,
softens the wax and draws it into the base of the candle, this is then
removed and the ear and surrounding area is gently massaged. The
treatment is repeated on the other ear and then a complete facial and
head massage is carried out, paying particular attention to the sinus
areas.
The Hopi Ear Candle acts as a
chimney and the natural movement of the flame creates a vibration of
warm, swirling air rising up through the candle which serves to gently
massage the ear drum, helping to dry up any moisture within the ear. |

Pressure Gradient Therapy
Cellulite
Fact or Fiction -
Something that most women dread! Young, old, fat, thin, rich or
poor, 95% of women are affected by this ugly, orange peel affect on
thighs, stomach and buttocks. American doctors call it 'plain fat',
here it is dismissed as female paranoia, but in FRANCE.... they have
been recognising and treating it as an individual problem for many
years. Theoretically, because women have thinner skin and a thicker
layer of fat, closer to the skin, waste materials and excess fluids
can become trapped within these tissues. Hormones too, appear to
play a role in the build up of cellulite. Once established, it
cannot be easily carried away by the bloodstream or lymphatic
system, making it almost impossible to eradicate.
Do you have
unsightly lumps, bumps, bulges and dimples? Help is at hand, a
wonderful discovery has been made through the medical system in
France, for the treatment of cellulite, and this latest technology
is now available in the UK, known as Pressure Gradient Therapy.
This process involves treatment
similar to the action of a therapist's hands, but at a much deeper
level. Gradual alternate pressure is applied through full-leg
booties and hip and abdomen belts with separate chambers, causing
gentle movement of excess fluid and waste products into the
lymphatic system and blood stream, naturally freeing the body of
cellulite.
